Started in 2008 as "Team TDQ" the goal of the team was initially to promote the Tour de Québec, a 4 day international stage race held annually in Quebec city and around while giving the opportunity to aspiring canadian athletes to compete at international cycling events and developp their skills.

Our activities started with the Vuelta a Costa Rica, a gruelling stage race of 14 days on the UCI calendar and 45 years old!

That first experience was incredible on many aspects. We were impressed to discover a very important cycling culture in a country we wouldn’t have expected.

Under the sports direction of Marc Dufour, the team was composed of a mixt of Canadians along with one American and one Britain. The team rode well grabbing the sprinter jersey early in the race and even scoring a stage win with Phil Cortes. In the end, only one rider (out of 8 starters) finished the difficult race, but the responses from the medias and interest surrounding the team encourages us to continue developping the team.

Races all around the world

So, in the following years, the team got organize more and more with other events added to the calendar (Vuelta Independencia, Tobago Classic, GP Univest, etc) and different riders getting the opportunity to test themselves on the international scene. (Guillaume Boivin, Phil Cortes, Hugo Houle, Zach Garland, Jean-Michel Lachance, to name a few) With more and more invites all around the world that we were not able to accept, we felt the need for a change in direction.

1% for the Planet

Thus in 2011, we approached 1% for the Planet, for a long term relationship in our new mission of encouraging people for a greener planet. To achieve our goal, our strategy is to organize and oversee fund raising activities part of cycling events around the world for non-profit organization part of the 1% mouvement.

At term, we wish to establish an international elite team program to continue the promotion of 1%, cycling and the attached benefits for the environements and health.

The environment crisis does'nt have any borders and we feel our international team will have a very positive impact on communities supported through the donations.
