About

Jean-Michel’s route is quite unconventional. First introduced to the sport of speed skating at a young age, the switch to cycling was quick and definite after a "camping" bike trip around the Adirondacks region in United States mountainous N-E region at age 15. The following year, he was competing locally and 5 years later was part of the Canadian national cycling track team which brought him competing internationally at world cups and the 2011 Pan-American games. Spending so many hours training on a bike and traveling around the world gets individuals to think differently and thus his environmental passions just kept growing each year. He believes every individual has the responsibility to impact positively the world when possible.

As a full time athlete and entrepreneur, Jean-Michel’s road map is already furnished. At 20, he founded a 5 day national cycling event in his hometown called the Tour de Québec (tourdequebec.com) and start working as an advocate for environment awareness through participating at international races and attending school conferences promoting 1% for the Planet movement along the way.

His goals now are to establish a successful business around the sports and the environment while aiming for a participation and a medal performance at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The journey promise to be exciting but riding for the planet provides an extra boost and motivation!
